Chynna Usrey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping adolescents, young adults and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based care. She earned her Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and brings extensive experience providing behavioral health services in both hospital and community settings.
Before joining Westlake Psychiatry, Chynna provided behavioral health services at Dell Children's Medical Center, where she specialized in comprehensive psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic support for children, adolescents, and families. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, she helped individuals navigate a wide range of emotional and behavioral health concerns while fostering resilience and promoting long-term wellness.
Chynna is especially passionate about working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate life's transitions. Whether adjusting to middle school, high school, college, entering the workforce, or exploring their sense of identity, she enjoys helping individuals build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and thrive through periods of change. She also has a special interest in supporting high-achieving students and athletes as they balance the demands of academics, athletics, and everyday life.
She believes that meaningful progress often extends beyond the individual and values partnering with families to strengthen communication, build understanding, and better support children and adolescents experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges. Chynna is also committed to providing an affirming, welcoming space for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
